RCMP investigating 'serious assault' at White Bear First Nations

The RCMP says a man was transported to hospital with what were described as serious injuries.

WHITE BEAR FIRST NATIONS — The Carlyle RCMP is investigating a report of a man being injured in what is believed to have been a serious assault. 

According to a news release from the Saskatchewan RCMP, at around 5:30 a.m. on June 28, the Carlyle RCMP responded to a report of an injured man who had walked to a residence on the White Bear First Nations and was seeking assistance. 

The RCMP says the man was transported to hospital with what were described as serious injuries. An update on his condition was not available. 

The Carlyle RCMP continues to investigate the incident.

"We will provide an update on this investigation as soon as we are able. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public," the RCMP said in a news release. 

In a post on his Facebook page on June 28, White Bear Chief Jonathan Pasap said a nation citizen was a victim of a stabbing incident, but the RCMP did not immediately confirm the information.
