Hiding away or displayed prominently there are items found in homes, at garage sales, or in auctions that are discovered to be a lost treasure.

On the last weekend of September there was only one place to be, a place where you could find some of the best racing in Saskatchewan, get a helicopter ride, a good burger and good ole Prairie fun all in one place.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are in a lot of trouble as the stretch drive for the 2013 Canadian Football season officially begins.

"Lose yourself" by Eminem, "Strong Will Continue" by Nas and Damian Marley and "Dream On" by Aerosmith are songs from different genres of music but songs I love equally.

Some magicians can walk on water; Chuck Norris can swim on land. I was inspired by Moon Cho's, "Mind Over Matter: How to Tap into your Deepest Sense of Will" in which she reflects on Diana Nyad's epic swim of over 100 miles from Cuba to Florida.

A weekly highlight for us is dinner with our sons and their families. Be it a celebratory turkey dinner or a simple bowl of homemade soup and fresh baked bread, the thrill is in being together.

911 Calls The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP received 50 calls during the week of Sept. 20 to Sept 26. There was a report of an intoxicated male at a bar in Carlyle bothering a server.

"I have seen a tremendous change in behavior in the students who attended Challenge Day," Betty Merrill, an English teacher at a high school in Florida, told the organizers.

On Wednesday, October 9th, is the next School Community Council Meeting at 7 pm at GFK School. All parents are welcome! There is no school on Monday, October 14th, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

On Thursday, Sept. 26, the students of Carlyle Elementary School (CES) came together to participate in their annual Terry Fox Run.
