A.L. MVP? Verlander on the verge

Bill Wyatt's performance at the 2011 Pee Wee Western Championships means he is eligible to move up in the umpiring world. Wyatt was selected to be one of nine umpires at the championships held in Nanaimo, BC from Aug. 25 to 29.

Connie Wilson, originally from Carlyle, was selected to participate in this year's Legion Pilgrimage which took her to France, Belgium and the Netherlands this summer.

It is that time of year again. Time for the fourth annual Creative Tables for Cancer. This year's event will be held Thursday, Oct. 6 at Arcola Prairie Place. This year is guaranteed to be a hit once again.

Carlyle RCMP received 63 calls between Sept. 9 and 15. Here's how the calls lined up in the police files at the detachment. A false alarm was investigated at a business in Carlyle. The cause was the area-wide power outage.
