The Carlyle Golf Course has reason to be excited for the upcoming year. In an interview with Terri Fields about her new position as clubhouse manager, some board members present echoed their excitement about this new year.

The Moose Mountain Karate Club in Carlyle has relocated to its own dojo. Prior to the pandemic, the club held classes in the Carlyle Elementary School gymnasium for more than 25 years.

Regina – On Jan. 14, the Saskatchewan Health Authority provided an update on its COVID-19 immunization campaign and delivery plan, as part of the regular COVID-19 update delivered from the Legislature in Regina.

The good news is that the light at the end of the tunnel in the COVID-19 fight might be something other than the proverbial train. The province had a slow start with administering the vaccine, and clearly, things aren’t going as well as hoped.

What impact has Covid-19 had on the town in 2020 and how has the community been dealing with it? In Kipling, we have been extremely fortunate that there has been little direct contact with the virus.

Dec. 19 started out like any other work day for 19-year-old Wyatt Hall of Kennedy. He worked at PIC – where he has been employed since graduating from Kipling High School in June 2020 – as usual and felt fine.

Congratulations to Riley Riddell and Jana Wlock on the birth of their daughter. She was born on Jan. 8 and weighed seven pounds, two ounces. She has been named Scottie Jean.

We are well into the new year now. Staff and students are back at school; they started back on Jan. 4. Good luck everyone on the next days while at school.

I have some really great gift-givers in my life; those that seem to find the perfect present no matter the circumstance. But a friend of mine got me something this year that she couldn’t have known would put the biggest smile on my face.

Carlyle Town Council held its first regular meeting of the year. Some things that were discussed were the Municipalities of Saskatchewan annual convention package and resolutions that will be presented at the convention this year.
