The 2018 edition of the annual Big Moose Baseball Tournament returns to Carlyle and Kenosee Lake from Friday, June 29 through to Canada Day, Sunday July 1.

Carlyle Town Council held its regular weekly meeting Wednesday, June 20 at the Carlyle Civic Centre. Council's next meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 at the Civic Centre.

The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls from Thursday, June 14 to the morning of Thursday, June 21.

The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls from Thursday, June 7 to the morning of Thursday, June 14, one of which was a single-vehicle rollover involving a tractor-trailer which took place at the junction of Hwys 9 and 13, near Carlyle.

In 1948, 13-year-old Ray Lothian started work at the Carlyle Bakery - and seven decades later, he's still there and still going strong. Lothian's legacy goes beyond longevity, however.
