After a year with no snow in 2016, a total of 522 riders were ready to enjoy the 24 th annual Arcola Optimist Snowmobile Rally. The event was held on Saturday, Jan. 28, where snowmobile enthusiasts came together to enjoy the trails of the southeast.

Yesterday I attended the funeral of a woman from our community. Although I did not know her personally, some of her children, daughters-in-law and grandchildren are friends.

Alyce was born, at home, in Carlyle, Saskatchewan on August 15, 1927. She passed away at the Moose Mountain Lodge in Carlyle on January 17, 2017. She was the second youngest of eleven children born to Adolf and Olga Eckert.
