The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 41 calls between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6. 911 calls A call came in from Arcola which was determined to be a misdial. The detachment was contacted by the caller and confirmed that there was no problem.

Personally I can't see the appeal of smoking. I understand many people do it, people in my family do, but I can't understand why. I like to be polite and considerate, but I have addressed things in ways I'm not proud of.

Congratulations to Mr. Birch and his wife Christina on the birth of their baby boy, Hunter! The junior curlers had a great season! We hosted and entered 3 teams in the Tim Horton's 14U Youth Spiel.

On Tuesday February 6th the Kipling Royals travelled to Carlyle for a regular league game. Chase Robertson hit the ice skating, focused on the puck he wasted no time taking it from the opposition and leaving it their net.

On Wednesday, Feb. 5, Wawota Parkland School welcomed a group of performers promoting bilingualism across Canada. Sponsored by Canadian Parents for French (CPF), Wawota chapter, and the national CPF program, "O Canada!" was a hit in Wawota.

Last year Wawota hosted a Relay for Life which was hugely successful bringing in 335 participants including 30 teams. Overall the night brought in $141,084.29 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
