ESTEVAN — Drivers from the Estevan area swept the winner's circle during the Estevan Motor Speedway's latest regular program May 31.
Kody Scholpp was the winner in the modified division, even though he started seventh on the grid, and finished ahead of Steven Pfeifer and Aaron Turnbull. Tate Johnson was fourth.
Scholpp moved into top spot in the points standings with 79, one more than Turnbull and two more than Pfeifer.
Kaiden Tuchscherer won the hobby stock feature, finishing ahead of Diezel Raynard, who worked his way up from the ninth starting spot. Brody Singleton was third and Kruz Wilson came in fourth.
Raynard has the lead in the overall standings with 79 points, three more than Singleton and eight more than Wilson.
Chris Hortness of Estevan was the winner of the stock car feature. Gabriel Deschamps finished second, Jeremy Swanson was third and Connor Hanson came in fourth.
Deschamps leads the overall standings with 78 points. Swanson is second with 75 and Hortness is third with 74.
Keenan Glasser of Estevan started from the pole position and took the checkered flag in the sport modified class, finishing ahead of Deschamps, who had won the previous five sport mod races in Estevan, dating back to last year. Deschamps started 10th. Quentin Skjerdal was third and Rylan Raynard was fourth.
Deschamps has 79 points, four ahead of Runge and Raynard.
The slingshot feature went to Hudson Mann, who won despite starting seventh. He finished ahead of Eli Turnbull, Gunner Raynard and Kolby Fichter.
Eli Turnbull leads the points race with 79, one ahead of Mann and two ahead of Raynard.
The event was billed as First Responders Night, as the speedway paid tribute to those who contribute to the safety of the community.
The next program will be June 6 with the Tougher than Dirt Tour for hobby stocks and sports modifieds making its way to Estevan.
