ESTEVAN — The Estevan Community Wellness Committee has announced the creation of a community building team, and it's looking for passionate, dedicated individuals who want to make a lasting impact on the city.

In a press release, the committee said part of its role is to support the building of community in Estevan. Although the committee has started some initiatives – including board game nights, the block party kit, and the Courage and Community Dinner – the committee recognizes the need for more help.

The community building team will play a vital role in fostering connection between the many existing community organizations, supporting the development of community activities, and promoting existing community-led initiatives and events.

The committee says anyone interested in helping plan activities, support local partnerships, assist with social media, or lend a hand when and where it's needed will be welcome.

The committee hopes a community-building team that has broad connections across the Estevan area can help to cross divides and bring people together. The community wellness committee believes that everyone has something to contribute and welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds and skill levels.

People can email [email protected] if they are interested in joining or want more information.
