The violent crime severity index stood at 112.07, a significant drop from the 165.46 recorded the previous year. The 2023 violent crime index was the highest for Estevan since the data started being tracked in the late 1990s.

The non-violent crime number was at 87.89, down from the 98.4 figure reported in 2023.

The figure for the area patrolled by the Estevan RCMP stood at 86.41 for 2024, up 35.8 per cent from 63.63 the previous year, and the highest it's been since a 97.59 was recorded in 2020. The RCMP's violent crime index was at 70.94, up from 47.59 the previous year, while the non-violent crime index was at 93.32, up from 70.58.

The Carlyle RCMP's CSI figure stood at 154.28, a 23.99 per cent increase from 124.43 the previous year. The violent crime number was 251.51, a 58.93 per cent increase from 2023's 158.25, while the non-violent CSI was 116.73, up slightly from 111.96.

The Carnduff RCMP's 2024 index number was 62.77, up 30.91 per cent from 47.95 the year before. The violent crime index was 50.83, up from 28.19 in 2023, while the non-violent CSI was 68.07, compared to 56.26.

The CSI is calculated by assigning a weight to each crime based on its severity, then multiplying the number of incidents of each crime by its weight and summing these weighted incidents. Finally, the total is divided by a jurisdiction's population.
