ESTEVAN — Jeff Clauson was the top golfer in the 18-hole competition at the Estevan Oilfield Technical Society's annual Oilmen's Golf Tournament.

Clauson shot an even-par 72 at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course to win the one-round division's championship flight by three strokes over Michael Hengen and Ethan Veroba. Darren Trimble was fourth with a 76; he won a count-back tiebreaker with Dominic Cote.

A total of 189 golfers were entered in the tournament's 18-hole event. Entrants played their round on May 29 or 30, and prizes were handed out in 16 flights due to the number of golfers.

The OTS also has a 36-hole tournament that is wrapping up on May 31. Golfers played their first 18 holes May 29 or 30 to determine flights, and then have another 18 holes on the 31st. The scores on the final day determine the overall champion. The winner must come from the championship flight.

SaskToday will have further coverage of the 36-hole event.
