SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN — The Carlyle Cardinals will be seeking their sixth straight title as the champions of the Saskota Baseball League during the Harbourne Memorial Tournament.

The other seven teams entered will be looking to end the Cardinals' dynasty.

Eight teams are entered, and are divided into two pools. The tournament gets underway July 25 with games in four markets. The top-ranked Southeast Diamondbacks will host the No. 8 Oxbow Chiefs at Joe Lingelbach Field at Mets Stadium. The Diamondbacks had the best record in the league during the regular season for the first time at 11-2. Oxbow was eighth at 5-8 and qualified for the Harbourne by defeating the No. 9 Arcola Threshers 9-5 in the play-in game.

Also on July 25, the second-ranked Cardinals (10-3) will host the No. 7 Redvers A's (6-7), the third-ranked Carnuff Astros (8-4-1) host the sixth-seeded Estevan Tap House Wolves (6-6-1), and the fourth-ranked Weyburn Sun Devils host the No. 5 Kenosee Cubs in a clash of two teams with 7-6 marks.

The attention will shift to Carnduff on July 26 and 27. Action on July 26 starts when Weyburn and Oxbow play at 8 a.m., and games are slated to happen every two hours until Carlyle faces Carnduff at 6 p.m.

Two more games will be played, starting at 8 a.m. July 27, and then the playoffs begin.

The top two teams from each pool will advance to the playoffs. If a tie-breaker is needed, it will be at noon, with a playoff game to follow every two hours afterwards. If the tie-breaker isn't needed, the semifinals would be at noon and 2 p.m., and the final would be at 4 p.m.

Arcola (4-9) and the 10th-ranked Moosomin Badgers (0-13) did not qualify.
