Update: Power restored to southeast communities

UPDATE: According to a message from SaskPower just after 11 p.m., electricity has been restored to Torquay, Oungre, Tribune, Bromhead and surrounding rural areas.

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN — A few southeast communities are without electricity in the evening of Aug. 17.

According to a message on SaskPower's X account at 8:29 p.m., crews have been dispatched and are determining the cause and repair time for the outage reported in Torquay, Oungre, Tribune, Bromhead and all surrounding areas.

In an update at 10:21 p.m., SaskPower said crews were assessing possible damage and had no estimated repair time. 

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for the area earlier in the evening.
