Update: severe thunderstorm warning lifted in Estevan

Warning was issued at 4:45 p.m. and was in effect for just over 30 minutes.

The severe thunderstorm warning for Estevan has ended.

ESTEVAN - The severe thunderstorm warning has ended in the Estevan area. 

Environment Canada said at 4:45 p.m. Friday that meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain. The warning was lifted at 5:19 p.m.

Also covered were the town of Bienfait, the villages of Roche Percee and Frobisher, the hamlet of Hitchcock, and the RMs of Estevan and Coalfields. 

It's the latest such warning for Estevan. Two severe thunderstorm warnings were issued on Wednesday. 

A severe thunderstorm watch was in effect Friday for the Estevan area as well. It was lifted Friday night.
