ESTEVAN — A proposed development on Wellock Road in northwest Estevan will be the focus of an open house.

Verity Developments, which is responsible for the project, will host the session Aug. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Nicholson Centre, which is part of the Estevan Leisure Centre.

The event will allow people to learn about the project, ask questions and provide feedback. There will also be at least one brief presentation, scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Estevan city council gave first reading to a bylaw for the development during a special meeting July 18. Second and third readings are needed before it can proceed; second reading is slated for Aug. 11.

At the time of the meeting, city council said there would be an open house before second reading.

If the project moves forward, 25 single-family residential lots in northwest Estevan would be rezoned into six or seven multi-family parcels, allowing for 12-plex units to be built. The buildings would be on the north side of Wellock, between Sister Roddy Road and Irvine Crescent/Devine Road.

SaskToday will have updates as they become available.
