Latest wind warning lifted for Estevan, Weyburn

A wind warning has been issued for Estevan, Weyburn and other areas.

UPDATE:

The wind warning for southeast Saskatchewan, including Estevan and Weyburn, has been lifted. 

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - For the second straight day, a wind warning was issued for parts of southeast Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada issued the advisory just after 1:30 p.m. for Estevan, Weyburn, Radville, Midale and other areas. A total of 16 RMs were affected. 

The warning stated gusty northwesterly winds continue this afternoon.

"Wind gusts may exceed 90 km/h at times during the afternoon hours before abating Thursday evening," the warning stated.

A similar advisory was in effect Wednesday, covering the Estevan and Weyburn areas, as well as a much larger region, including the Regina, Moose Jaw, Assiniboia and Carlyle areas. The wind caused a number of power outages in the southeast.
