Loss comes in many forms, a relationship loss, a job loss, or a loss through death. Anytime we lose something or someone, it is usually followed by grief.

The Southeast College has announced $25,750 in scholarships and bursaries for students at its Estevan campus.

Students from the Drewitz School of Dance in Estevan, under the direction of Lorie-Gay Drewitz-Gallaway and assistant teacher Hunter Hildebrand, recently received their Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet results from London.

The Estevan RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a stolen side by side. The side by side was taken sometime overnight on July 6 or 7 in the RM of Coalfields. It was in a ditch just south of Roche Percee as it was broken down.

The City of Estevan has announced that much of the eastern portion of Fourth Street will be closed this weekend due to roadwork. Fourth Street from Eighth Avenue to Second Avenue will be shut down due to construction.

I’m not sure if July 4 celebrations were different this year for our U.S. neighbours, but here in Canada our recognition of July 1, Canada Day, certainly was. In fact, it could be said that anything but enthusiasm marked the day for a lot of people.
