Estevan fire crews responded to a wildland fire last Thursday and also were busy with other duties. In the afternoon of July 1, firefighters were called out to a wildland fire occurring north of Estevan on a farm property.

Members of the Carlyle RCMP are currently investigating a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 13, approximately one kilometre east of Manor.

Several local golfers were entered in the Maple Leaf Junior Tour golf event that was held at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club in Estevan on the weekend.

A local youth is facing several charges following a 911 call for a disturbance on July 4.

The heat warning that was in effect for southeast Saskatchewan has been lifted. Environment Canada lifted the warning at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, five days after the warning was issued. Temperatures eclipsed the 30 C mark on several days.

The severe thunderstorm watch for the Carlyle area is over. Environment Canada issued the watch at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. It was lifted at 8:53 p.m. Saturday night.
