A popular summer music festival in southeast Saskatchewan won’t happen this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organizers of the Bow Valley Jamboree announced on Facebook recently that the event, scheduled for August at the Bow Valley Park south of Oxbow, has been postponed, due to provincial health regulations and guidelines in place.
“The Oxbow Arts and Cultural Committee would like to thank all the performers, benefactors and volunteers that contributed to the planning of our 2020 event,” the Facebook posted stated.
The jamboree has been happening for a number of years, with Saskatchewan musicians, including some from the Oxbow area, entertaining music lovers with their talents. Up and coming musicians from the southeast get a chance to perform as well, in between the featured acts.
Artisans get to show off their talents with displays during the day.
The next edition of the jamboree is slated for Aug. 7, 2021.
