Crocus 80 will be shaking things up this summer, as they present “Shake It Up in the Park” this summer.
Shake It Up will be the first time Crocus 80 has presented a Shakespearian play in River Park in Weyburn.
To commemorate the celebrations nationwide for Canada 150, they are putting a Canadian twist on William Shakespeare’s play “Much Ado About Nothing”.
This adaptation, written by Steven Wilson, embraces the wit of the original play, and the misunderstandings that could always come up when dealing with romance, and shenanigans, while bringing it to a modern Saskatchewan setting.
The comedy, presented in all five acts, will be performed in River Park on Friday and Saturday, July 14 and 15.
To help get this exciting project underway, a casting call will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7, at the Tommy Douglas Centre at 10 a.m. on both days. There are calls are out for volunteers, including director, stage manager, and more.
For more information, contact Steven Wilson at (306) 861-8120, or email [email protected]. Be sure to follow Crocus 80 on Facebook as well.
