Crocus 80 Theatre will present the romantic comedy play, “The Love List”, as a Christmas dinner theatre production at the Weyburn Legion Hall, with one performance to be as a dessert matinee.
The play will be produced on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15 and 16, as a dinner theatre both evenings, with tickets at $40 per person, or a table of eight for $280.
It will be presented as a matinee on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m., with tickets at $20 each.
The story centres around two friends, a statistician named Bill (played by Pete Broccolo), and a writer named Leon (played by Chris Gillespie), who compile a list of traits of the “ideal woman”.
The comedic situations arise when their ideal woman, Justine (played by Cara Schultz), suddenly appears in Bill’s apartment, with all of the traits that they put on their list. The men don’t realize at first that she isn’t real until they change items on the list, and those changes are manifested in Justine’s character.
Traditionally, Crocus 80 has used the profits from the Christmas dinner theatre to help with their expenses for the youth summer theatre program, but this year, a part of the proceeds will be going towards hosting TheatreFest, the provincial theatre festival to be hosted in Weyburn by Crocus 80 on April 1-8, 2018, at the Cugnet Centre, with some of the workshops to be held at the T.C. Douglas Centre.
Tickets for “The Love List” are available at the Legion Hall.
The dinner theatre evenings will start with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the show to follow.
