It will be a busy spring for the Weyburn Arts Council, as a number of new art exhibits will be placed on display at the art galleries in the city.
The 2016 Weyburn Arts Council adjudication winners will have an exhibit at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery during April, for the exhibit “3 Artists, 1 Show”.
The art exhibit will feature Grace Rose Holyer, Christopher Borshowa and Carol Reeve. There will be a public reception for the three artists at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery on Friday, April 21, at 7 p.m.
During the months of May and June, the Fibre Arts Network will exhibit “Canadiana” in the Allie Griffin Art Gallery. A public reception for the fibre exhibit will be held on Thursday, May 11, at 7 p.m.
At the Signal Hill Arts Centre second floor arts gallery, the 2017 Weyburn Arts Council adjudication is now on display. There will be a private artist critique on Friday, April 28, followed by a public reception at 7 p.m.
During the months of May and June, a retrospective exhibit called “From Clay to Kiln” will be displayed at the Signal Hill by members of the Weyburn Pottery Club and the May Clay Monsters.
The Weyburn Credit Union art gallery is still closed for renovations for the month of April.
In May, art work by the Sunrise Early Learning and Teen Parent Support Centre will be on display. An art gala will be held at the Credit Union art gallery on Saturday, May 27.
During the month of June, art work will be displayed and available for purchase at the Canadian Mental Health Association’s art gala.
