The Weyburn Agricultural Society will have their annual general meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be held in their offices on the exhibition grounds, located beside the Curling Rink.
Information on the success and challenges faced by the Agricultural Society will be detailed during the meeting. Financial reports and club reports are given each year.
Also during the meeting, the Agricultural Society sets their dates for their Weyburn Fair and the Weyburn Rodeo.
New board members are encouraged to attend the meeting. Terms for the directors on the Agricultural Society last for a minimum of three years and interested residents are urged to contact the Weyburn office.
The Ag. Society had a very busy and successful year, with an increase in rentals of the Curling Rink and more use of the rodeo arena, with a new series of children’s rodeos, in addition to the annual professional rodeo.
A couple of new events are in the plans for the Ag. Society, that might be added to their 2015 calendar, including a truck and tractor pull and a “Flavour of Fall” food and drink festival. Shortly, the Ag. Society will also work with Crocus 80 Theatre in the productions of their March dinner theatres. A casting call will be announced shortly, with additional information for those interested in volunteering.
