The club started the 2017-18 year on Oct. 15 with its annual organizational meeting. Members said good-bye to general leader Linda Mack, and welcomed Brandice Petterson as the new general leader. Meghan Dukart and Kerri Hayes are returning as project leaders, while Mallory Oleshko and Jesse Mantei are new project leaders.
The club is thankful to Mack for all of her years of hard work and organization.
The club’s new president is Mason Wigley and the new vice-president is Ashley Tedford. Brody Walter is the new secretary and Nigel Mack is the treasurer.
The club discussed the upcoming year at October’s meeting and played a game that taught them about parliamentary procedure. At the end of the meeting there was a farewell to Linda Mack and cupcakes were served.
The club’s second meeting of the year was on Nov. 5. Ryan Vandenhurk spoke on feeding a project animal. He brought all kinds of different feeds to show what they should be eating. Club members learned a lot through his presentation.
They also discussed different fundraising ideas, the upcoming Agribition convention in Regina and the Christmas Party in December. Project leaders Oleshko and Mantei did an activity about feeding animals.
Members coloured through a steer’s stomach and did a fill in the blank exercise. At the end of the meeting, they collected toys, pencil crayons and books to donate to Operation Christmas Child.
