Midale-area company Three Farmers Products and Weyburn businessman Ted Hillstead were honoured at the 31st annual ABEX Awards, which recognizes business excellence in the province.
There were were 755 people who gathered at the Delta Regina on Saturday evening for the awards gala, with a total of 46 finalists in 10 categories.
Weyburn companies PAR Contracting, Streamline Oilfield and Blue Earth Recycling were all nominated for ABEX awards.
Blue Earth was beat out by Three Farmers Products in the Environment category; this award goes to a business that demonstrates excellence in the development of innovative programs, products and/or services offering improvement for environmental purposes.
Three Farmers was established in Midale, growing, producing and marketing camelina oil, growing to establish a business office in Saskatoon.
PAR Contracting was nominated in the Community Involvement category, which was won by Redhead Equipment of Regina.
Streamline Oilfield was nominated in the New Venture category, which was won by Quickthree Solutions of Saskatoon.
Ted Hillstead was presented with the first-ever Roger Phillips Chamber Builder Award, for his contributions to the chamber network in Saskatchewan. The award was named for ABEX founder and past Saskatchewan Chamber board member Roger Phillips.
