St. Michael student Emersyn Jordens lets a butterfly rest on her hand before it finally flew away, during a butterfly release on Thursday at Jubilee Park. The school’s two Grade 1 classes and a 1/2 split all walked to the park to release the Painted Lady butterflies, and then walked over to the playground area to have a lunch picnic. The classes received the caterpillars in early May and watched them grow until they emerged as butterflies a few days before release.
