The Weyburn Police Service has a number of unsolved crimes that have occurred in the city over the last few months, and are asking for the public's assistance for any information they may have that might solve some of these incidents.
On Aug. 13, city police were called to investigate vandalism at the Weyburn Comprehensive School. Two buildings had been broken into, with damages done to windows and doors.
Damages were done to another school, Souris, on Aug. 4 as several windows were broken out by unknown culprits during the evening, and a fire extinguisher was expended on the roof of the school.
On July 5, several business owners reported graffiti damage done to parts of their buildings and one vehicle. Swastikas had been painted with black spray paint overnight.
Police received a complaint of the theft of a utility trailer on June 18. The trailer was parked near the Therapeutic Animal Park located on the west side of the city.
Vehicle damage was reported on June 11, after the complainant had a tire slashed and his vehicle keyed while it was parked at his residence in the central part of Weyburn. A scalpel blade was found in one of the tires, and it appeared the blade was used to key the the paint on several areas of the truck as well.
A complaint of mischief to a vehicle was reported on May 14, while it was parked at the mall. A rear passenger window of a minivan had been broken with an unknown object; nothing was reported missing from inside the vehicle.
A local business reported vandalism on April 12, as the words "Native Blue Bloods" was spray-painted in blue on a back bay door.
Police responded to a break-and-enter on Feb. 15 at a residence located in the northwest part of the city.
The culprits kicked in the front door of the home while the home owners were absent, and several items were stolen, including a laptop, camera and some gold jewelry.
