City police investigate egging of car, hit & run

The Weyburn police are investigating a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision that happened in the Wal-Mart parking lot between 5:30 and 6 p.m.
This incident involved more than the typical bumper bump often encountered. In this case the driver’s door handle of the victim vehicle was ripped off. Anyone having information about this incident is asked to contact either the Weyburn police, or to call Crime Stoppers.
City police received a report of a break-and-enter to a residence on Dec. 23. As the result of the investigation the matter was not as serious as first thought. A 35-year-old male has been charged with break-and-enter and committing mischief.
The Weyburn police were called to a report of a domestic assault between a 60-year-old male and a 56-year-old female on Dec. 30. The male was transported to the local hospital. The matter is still under investigation.
As a result of a traffic stop on New Year’s Day, an 18-year-old male was charged with driving while suspended. He was charged and the vehicle impounded.
The Weyburn police dealt with a suicidal male a number of times over the holidays.
The Weyburn police were called to a report of a shoplifter at a local business on Dec. 21. The suspect was known to store staff and the theft was caught on store video surveillance. The matter is still under investigation but charges are expected to be laid.
A 17-year-old female was travelling on McGillivray Drive when an animal ran into the street on Dec. 29 around 7:45 p.m. As a result the driver took evasive action causing her to lose control and strike a tree.
The city police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision involving a power pole on Dec. 23. There were no injuries, but SaskPower had to be notified due to the damage on the pole. The matter is still under investigation.
Police were called upon regarding a neighbourhood dispute on Dec. 23. As a result of the investigation a 47-year-old female was warned of her actions. 
The Weyburn police were made aware of a suspected impaired driver entering the City from a rural area at about 9:25 p.m. on Dec. 21. The vehicle was subsequently located and a 23-year-old male was arrested and charged with driving while over .08. He will be making a court appearance in the near future.
As the result of a traffic check a vehicle being driven by a 51-year-old male was checked on Dec. 23 and the driver found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was issued a three-day driving suspension.
The Weyburn police received a report of a 62-year-old male that was missing in his travels on Dec. 26. He was thought to be travelling to Weyburn for the holidays but had not arrived and his whereabouts unknown. The person was from Calgary and the assistance of the Calgary Police Service was requested. Before much could be done in the investigation the family was contacted by the person who had changed his holiday plans and did not notify anyone.
As the result of a traffic stop the Weyburn police found a 44-year-old male to be driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 27. He was issued a three-day driving suspension.
Police received a report of a person possibly in distress in a vehicle At about 9 p.m. on Dec. 27. Upon attending the location, members discovered a 31-year-old male to be highly intoxicated and passed out in the vehicle. He was arrested and subsequently charged with having the care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired.
