Police received 13 complaints of vehicles that were entered that were located at residences in the northeast section of Weyburn. Items commonly missing to most owners are wallets, change, cash, and cigarettes. Larger items reported missing are a laptop computer, and a PDF scanner. Citizens are advised to be aware of a potential computer scam received from individuals claiming to reimburse Microsoft users for unused services. Please report these incidents to the Weyburn Police Service or Phone Busters.
There have also been a number of incidents of graffiti. City police urges anyone with information on this to contact the police. Graffitti, or tagging, as it is commonly called, is indicative of other underlying issues that need to be identified and dealt with. Police also urge anyone who has been "tagged" to immediately clean it up after having called the police. Graffiti is in a lot of ways a "look at me" offence, so the quicker it can be cleaned up the less opportunity the culprit has to have their work visible and the less likely they are to repeat or continue as all their hard work is for nothing.
