The Weyburn Police Service are investigating a stabbing incident that took place in the early morning hours on Friday.
The city police received a report of a person just having been beat up at about 2:20 a.m. On attending the Laing Crescent Park area, police located a 21-year-old individual with minor injuries.
Due to his level of intoxication he was arrested for being intoxicated in public and held in cells until sober. While investigating his story a call was received about a person who required medical assistance for a stab wound.
A 26-year-old male was transported by EMS to the Weyburn General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both victims are believed to have been involved in the same incident.
Reports suggest that perhaps two or three more individuals were present but their exact involvement, identities or descriptions are not known at this time.
This is believed to be an isolated incident.
