City police investigate two B&Es

The Weyburn Police Service attended to 113 calls over the week of Jan. 23-30, including break-and-enters, thefts and a violent assault.

Police attended a residential break and enter on the 1100 block of Park Avenue on Jan. 23. A wallet was found inside the residence and $500 cash was stolen.

On Jan. 28, police attended to a residential break and enter on the 300 block of Sixth Street. Several doors were damaged before entry was gained to the house. A computer and television were stolen.

City police were called to attend a violent family domestic disturbance in the city on Friday. Two residents of the home required medical treatment and were later admitted to Weyburn General Hospital. A female resident remains in hospital with extensive injuries. A male resident was released from hospital the next day. He remains in custody pending court appearance, and faces several serious Criminal Code charges.

A snow machine was apprehended in the downtown area on Jan. 27. The owner was charged for operating an unregistered vehicle on a public street.

On Jan. 28, police charged a 39-year-old male with impaired driving.
