Weyburn Police Service received a report of two parked vehicles being entered and rummaged through overnight on Dec. 11. Nothing was reported stolen. Residents are again reminded to lock the doors of their vehicles, and ensure all valuables are removed.
Weyburn police received 34 reports of the CRA fraud scam on Dec. 11. All complainants realized this was an attempt to defraud and no monetary losses were reported. Weyburn police received a report of two Christmas projectors being stolen from the yard of a residence on Dec. 12. No suspects were identified. City police received another report of Christmas laser projectors being stolen from a yard on Saturday. Police are asking anyone who may have any information to contact the Weyburn Police Service.
The Weyburn police received a report of a vehicle being hit while parked on Third Street on Dec. 12. There is no suspect vehicle identified and the hit-and-run investigation is ongoing.
The Weyburn Police Service attended to a local restaurant in regard to a theft of wallet and contents on Wednesday. The investigation located the wallet and subsequently identified a person of interest. The matter remains under investigation.
Weyburn police received a report of a fail to remain at the scene of an accident on Thursday, after a car drove off with the gas hose still in the gas tank, causing damage to the gas pump. The incident remains under investigation.
The Weyburn Police Service received a report of a break-and-enter to a shed at a residence in the north end of the city on Thursday. Nothing was reported stolen, and the investigation is ongoing.
Weyburn police received a report from a local business of a counterfeit $10 Canadian bill on Friday, and an investigation is ongoing.
While on patrol on Saturday, members conducted a vehicle stop and found the driver, a 23-year-old male, to be disqualified from driving. He was charged with driving while disqualified and will be appearing in court in January.
Weyburn police were called to a domestic disturbance on Friday. During the course of the investigation it was found that a 44-year-old male had assaulted a 43-year-old female. The male was arrested at the scene and lodged in cells. He was charged with assault and breach of conditions and was remanded for court.
