Weyburn police responded to a 911 call to a residence in the 10 block of 12th Street NE at about 9 p.m. on Friday. As a result of the call, a 26-year-old female was arrested at the scene and after a mild struggle was taken into custody. She is facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, mischief and uttering threats. She was remanded in custody and appeared in court Tuesday. A 60-year-old male and a 55-year-old female were treated at the hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
• City police and Weyburn EMS were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision at First Avenue N and Government Road at about 2:15 p.m. on Friday. The investigation has revealed that car travelling west on First Avenue failed to yield when making a left turn to a pickup truck travelling east on First Avenue, resulting in a collision. Both occupants of the car were transported to the Weyburn General Hospital with minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The 25-year-old driver of the car has been charged with failing to yield.
• City police responded to a report of a fire and explosions in the area of the 100 block of 18th Street NE at about 9:50 p.m. on Oct. 3. Upon arrival it was found that some paper and an aerosol can had been lit on fire. The fire was extinguished with no threat to surrounding property. • The Weyburn police responded to a single vehicle collision on Fourth Street NE on Wednesday. No one was injured although the vehicle had to be towed from the scene. A medical review request for the driver has been sent to SGI.
• City police responded to a complaint of a domestic assault at a residence in the 400 block of Government Road at about 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. A 26-year-old female was taken into custody without incident at the scene and has been charged with assaulting a 43-year-old male.
• The Weyburn police responded to two calls believed to be related in the Scott Crescent and Third Avenue NW area on Thursday. In one incident a vehicle window was smashed out and a large amount of tools stolen. In the other a detached garage was entered and tools taken. • Police responded to a report of a theft of a motor vehicle from the 100 block of Third Street South on Thursday. The vehicle has since been recovered in Regina. Police note that virtually every single vehicle stolen in Weyburn in the past year has provided an easy opportunity to the culprit because the keys have been left in the vehicle and the doors left unlocked.
• The Weyburn police received a complaint on Thursday that eventually led to an assault investigation. As a result a 19-year-old female has been charged with assaulting a 22-year-old female. The accused will be making a court appearance.
• Weyburn police CTSS stopped a vehicle in a routine check for sobriety at about midnight on Thursday. As a result, a 31-year-old female driver was arrested and is now facing charges of impaired driving and of driving while prohibited as a result of a 2015 conviction for impaired driving.
