Local Color by Amber stylists presented the Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop Corp. with a donation of $600 to be put towards programming needs.
The money was raised through the “Women Supporting Women Jewellery Fashion Show and Fundraiser” held recently. Guests in attendance purchased jewellery from the Color by Amber fall catalogue and the stylists donated their commissions.
Color by Amber is a jewellery company with a unique product and a unique philosophy. Their motto is “Do Good – Look Good – Feel Good. We are driven to look, feel, and do good for ourselves and people across the globe.”
Terry Benson, Color by Amber stylist, said, “Our company does good with every single item we sell. We do good for the environment because of our carbon neutral product and we do good for our artisans across the globe who supply many of the beautiful materials encased in our jewellery.”
November each year is designated “Do Good Month” at Color by Amber, where they take on special projects. The Weyburn stylist team decided they wanted to do something good in the community and that’s where the fashion show fundraiser idea was born.
“We had 13 of our ladies who volunteered to model the jewellery. This was a first for them and we are so grateful to the CBA stylists for giving them this beautiful opportunity. It was very heartwarming to see how excited they were to have their hair and makeup done, dress up and wear some beautiful pieces of jewellery,” said Andria Brady, executive director of the Wor-Kin Shop.
“Everyone needs to feel beautiful and special sometimes and these three ladies gave them this chance. The donation of their commission proceeds was an added bonus.”
