JA awards

Two separate classes of Entrepreneurship 30 at the Weyburn Comp brought home certificates and plaques on Thursday evening as finalists or award winners in the Junior Achievement student business program.
From the first semester’s company, “Overtime”, president Macy Liebreich was a finalist for President of the Year, and she acted as emcee for the provincial JA awards ceremonies. She was also a finalist for the Professional Leadership Award. The company itself won first place for Product Design, and was a finalist for Company of the Year along with the second semester company, “In the Mix”. Chrisella Fesalbon was a finalist for the Spirit of JA award.
From In the Mix, Alex Hes was a double-award winner, for Information Technology Excellence, and as Achiever of the Year. For the latter award, she will be given an expenses-paid trip to the Next Generation Leaders Forum, an international forum hosted by Junior Achievement Canada. In her speech at the awards ceremony, Hes said, “I strongly believe in personal achievement because there is no better feeling in the world than knowing that you did everything you possibly could to accomplish your goals, exceed your expectations, and achieve success in your endeavours.”
Taylor Kyle won the award for Production Excellence, and Mitch Bellefleur won the award for Financial Management, with president Ashley Breault a finalist for President of the Year. Garett Hoffart was a finalist for Salesperson of the Year, Payge Crozier was a finalist for the Spirit of JA award, and Julienne Barrie was a finalist for Professional Leadership.
