The Parents Night and Awards Night for the Weyburn Comprehensive School will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, starting at 7 p.m. in the Cugnet Centre. Academic Awards for Honour Rolls for this year’s Grade 8 – 12’s will be given out, and then parents will be able to ask questions and visit their student’s home room. All parents are invited out.
The week began with soccer for the girls in Moose Jaw and for the boys in Weyburn at Jubilee Park on Tuesday. The school is hosting the first half of the Co-op Volleyball Challenge today, Oct. 4, with both the senior boys and senior girls playing. The games start at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The second half will be held the following week at Estevan. This life-long rivalry will surely heat up when the volleyball starts to fly.
The senior cross-country team is going to Oxbow for districts on Wednesday as well. The football team is off to Moose Jaw on Thursday to take on the Peacock team.
There is no school next Monday (Thanksgiving), Oct. 9, and Friday (PD day), Oct. 13. On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the Eagles are hosting Moose Jaw Vanier in a football game starting at 4 p.m.
Just some advance notice that the ever-popular WCS Fowl Supper will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Mark it on your calendar.
