Martin Tuschek, one of the developers seeking a zoning change to Second Street, discusses some of the benefits the proposed modular-built apartment complex would have for Weyburn during a city council meeting on Monday night. Many of the residents on Second Street, who wrote letters of opposition to city hall, filled the council chambers to standing-room-only to share their concerns with city council. At the end of discussion, city council decided to rescind the propose zoning, which would have turned the four lots on Second Street from residential semi-detached to Central Business District by contract. By rescinding the bylaw change, city council is allowing the developer to work with concerned residents in the neighbourhood for a project that would meet with city approval.
