Karissa Hoffart claimed first place at the KVCK Country Showdown at the Olf Point High School.
The contest was held July 6. Wolf Point and Poplar contestants finished in the second and third place.
During the competition, Hoffary performed “Welcome to Country”, one of her original songs.”
Hoffart, age 20, of Minton, aspires to perform in Nashville, Tenn. The country singer and songwriter is a Saskatchewan Star Search champion.
She is a second year nursing student at the University of Regina.
Christina Dahl, age 18, of Wolf Point finished second at the Showdown. Dahl is a recent Wolf Point High School graduate and aspires to become a music teacher. Garrett Reid, age 19, of Poplar finished in third place.
