Chartered Professional Accountant Brent McLean is making his hometown his home.
The Carlyle native - along with his wife LaTonya and young sons, Rogan and Renner - will make their permanent home in the community, as McLean, a CPA and CA with Regina-based accounting firm, Dudley & Company LLP opens the company's Carlyle office.
“I'm looking forward to being back in the community,” says McLean. “I studied at the U of R (University of Regina) and I articled at Dudley & Company there for about two and a half years and I've worked for them in their Regina office ever since. But I've played hockey and baseball within the community here for about 15 years, so in a way, I've never really left this area.”
MacLean will be in his Carlyle office Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Mondays and Tuesdays, he'll return to Dudley & Co.'s Regina office.
“I've worked 10 years so far in this field and I already have some clients who started with me in Saskatchewan and have since moved away to live elsewhere, but they've chosen to stay with me,” says McLean. “I really value those long-term relationships with clients and that's something I hope to continue here in Carlyle.”
Through their Carlyle office, Dudley & Co. offers a “full range of accounting services,” according to McLean. These include: compilation engagements, review engagements and audits for corporate clients and non-profit organizations, family farm transfers, municipal audits, bookkeeping for companies and individuals and corporate and personal tax returns.
“We'll eventually be looking at adding more staff,” says MacLean. “And we also have Rob Nicolay, a lawyer with Bridges & Company LLP in Estevan working here on Mondays.”
