MOOSOMIN — The May meeting of the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce is coming up Tuesday, May 28.

Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill is tentatively scheduled to join chamber members for the Chamber meeting that day. Cockrill had made the announcement late last year that Moosomin's Play Fair Daycare is approved for an additional 90 spaces. Those spaces will require a second building. The Southeast Cornerstone School Division has agreed to provide land to accommodate the new daycare building at the south end of the MacLeod School playground.

McNaughton High School will make a presentation on a fundraising campaign for renovations to the school. The Southeast Cornerstone School Division had applied for $10 million in provincial funding for a renovation of McNaughton High School under a new provincial program. That application was not accepted for the current budget year, and the school has decided to move forward with a smaller renovation project with community support.

The plan will be presented at the May Chamber meeting.

Chamber members will also hear from Immigration Consultant Ailyn Silanga, who has set up an immigration consulting business in Moosomin and is working with employers and new Canadians.

The meeting is set for 11:45 am Tuesday, May 28 in the Canalta meeting room.
