The Sun Country Health Region will be reducing emergency services during the evening hours at the Kipling Memorial Hospital until July 9.
Due to a nursing shortage, the health region has reduced the emergency department to the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. only, which began on June 28.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," said Marga Cugnet, CEO, Sun Country Health Region. "It was a situation that arose suddenly and we will rectify it as quickly as possible. Contract nursing services were not available on such short notice. We will notify the community as soon as we can provide 24 hour service once again."
