Envision Counselling and Support Centre will partner with Victim Services to offer a special workshop on “Understanding and Working with Sexually Exploited or Trafficked Children and Youth.”
The training will be led by Jennifer Richardson, who has a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Manitoba.
For the last 15 years, Richardson has worked in the field of child exploitation and trafficking and has held several different roles in Manitoba as an international expert in the field of exploitation and trafficking. Richardson is a provincial child sexual exploitation specialist and manages a specialized program that is mandated to located missing and exploited children.
The workshop will be held at the Travelodge Hotel in Regina. Part one of the sessions will be held September 7, 8 and 9. Part two will be held on October 5, 6 and 7.

The Envision Counselling and Support Centre will also host a Women’s Empowerment Group at their Estevan Office starting on September 6.
The session will run from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. Preregistration is required, and the sessions run for 10 weeks. This workshop is open to any women 18 years and older, who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.
The group will provide a nurturing and supportive environment to explore topics such as triggers, self-care, flashbacks, grounding techniques and resiliency, among others.
