Members of the Estevan Police Service handled a number of calls on Saturday.
Officers attended to an east central Estevan restaurant on a report of a Saskatoon man refusing to wear a mask in accordance with COVID regulations. The male became unco-operative, refusing to identify himself which resulted in him being arrested for obstructing a police officer. He was transported to the police station and later brought to St. Joseph’s Hospital as a result of significant underlying medical issues. He was later released without charges and turned over to family members.
Members responded to a number of calls regarding impaired drivers. One driver provided a sample of breath into an approved screening device and passed. Two other complaints remain under investigation.
Officers were called to a disturbance in an apartment in the north end of the city. Police were able to locate the source of the disturbance and the matter was resolved.
Members responded to a 911 hang-up call in the south end of the city. The complainant was located and the matter remains in under investigation.
Police were called to a report of a suspicious person in a backyard. They located the suspect and after speaking to him, it was determined to have been a misunderstanding and he was sent on his way.
