Estevan conservation officers are requesting the public’s assistance in solving two cases of white-tail deer that were shot and left behind.

According to information on the SaskTips Facebook page, on Nov. 16, officers investigated a white-tail deer that had been shot and left to waste. The deer was found in a hay field approximately 12 kilometres northeast of Torquay, with vehicle tracks leading to and away from the deer.

Officers believe that the deer had been killed sometime on Nov. 14 or 15, during the last day of rifle mule deer season, or the opening of rifle white-tail deer season.

On Nov. 20, officers investigated another white-tail deer buck that was shot and left to waste approximately four kilometres northeast of Gainsborough, and less than a kilometre from the Manitoba border. The deer was located behind a bluff of trees less than 100 metres from a grid road.

Officers believe the deer had been shot between Nov. 15 and 18, during the white-tail deer season.
