ESTEVAN - Dec. 25 will be a time to celebrate for Blanche Keating of Estevan, for more reasons than one.
Obviously, it's Christmas Day. But it will also be her birthday. Her 105th birthday.
Keating was born in 1917 and raised in the Weyburn area. She moved to Estevan in 1960 with her husband Francis and their 11 children, after she accepted a teaching job at the former St. John's School. When she celebrated her 100th birthday in 2017, she was still living on her own at her residence on First Street.
Keating currently resides at Creighton Lodge.
She has said she credits her longevity to good genes, good family, good friends and a good God.
