The Royal Canadian Legion’s Estevan branch has received a grant of $15,605 from the federal government.
This money is to help veterans’ organizations that are suffering financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Estevan branch will be using these funds to help ensure they are able to continue the work they do for veterans.
The legion says it is grateful for this assistance and grateful for the work of Souris-Moose Mountain MP Robert Kitchen on behalf of veterans across the country.
“I am extremely pleased with the money that the Royal Canadian Legion has received, not just here in Estevan, but across the country. This investment helps to support our local veterans and allows the legion to continue to provide much needed services within the community,” said Kitchen.
“During this time of uncertainty and isolation, it is essential to bolster support services for our veterans in any way we can. I applaud the Legion for their work in this regard and I will continue to advocate for further funding in the future.
Other legions in the riding that received funding are Bienfait, Carlyle, Lampman, Stoughton-Tecumseh, Kipling, Weyburn, Grenfell, Moosomin and Whitewood.
