There are 12 more recoveries from COVID-19 to report in south East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, on May 25.
There was one new case of COVID-19 to report in Zone 4 on May 25 as well, leaving the area with 60 active cases – lowest number the region has seen in weeks.
There was also one new case in South East Zone 1, which is northwest of Zone 4, and one new case in Weyburn’s Zone 3.
Saskatchewan is reporting 111 new cases, 197 recoveries and no new deaths on May 25. There have been 45,820 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in Saskatchewan.
The other new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 2; North West, 11; North Central, 19; North East, 1; Saskatoon, 45; Central West, 4; Central East, 5; Regina, 15; South West, 2; and South Central, 2. Two new cases are pending residence information. Two previously reported cases with pending residence information were added to the North Central zone.
Recoveries total 43,842 and 1,451 cases are considered active.
Ten of the new recoveries are from the South East.
A total of 1,537 cases are considered active, with 103 in the South East.
There are 136 people in hospital, with 106 receiving in-patient care and 30 in intensive care. Three people are receiving in-patient care in the South East, the same number as May 24.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 139 (11.3 new cases per 100,000).
There were 1,543 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 24.
An additional 2,339 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 665,193. Included in that total was 44 doses in the South East region.
Seventy-six per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. Seventy per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose. Sixty-three per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose.
As of May 24, 10,241 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, including 1,035 in the South East.
