The City of Estevan has announced the start of skate programs at Affinity Place and the resumption of the free swim program at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre.
“Parent and tot skate will resume at Affinity Place on October 1st from 11:15 a.m. until 12 p.m., Monday through Friday,” said program manager Erin Wilson. “We are very thankful for the Estevan Strippers Hockey Club, who once again has sponsored all admissions for the program.”
Wilson added: “Noon hockey will also resume on October 1 and will run from noon until 1 p.m., Monday through Friday at Affinity Place. This year a new sponsor, Southeast Tree Care, has come on board to support the program.”
All users of the programs will need to check-in at the information desk to ensure allowable numbers into the facility.
A reminder, no hockey sticks are allowed during parent and tot skate. Helmets are recommended, and anyone on the ice must wear ice skates or ice cleats.
The free swim program has moved to a prebooking procedure to make certain allowable numbers are kept and to avoid the disappointment of users if maximum capacity is reached.
“We are also thankful for the Estevan Lions Club who have so generously supported the free swim program at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre for so many years,” said Wilson.
Users can prebook on the website at www.estevan.ca or by calling the information desk at 306-634-1888.
“Users prebooking free swim must book two hours before the start of the program,” Wilson said.
