One of the biggest annual fundraisers for the Family Place, the Festival of Trees, is now being set up at the Barber Motors showroom, and will be open for viewing prior to the gala auction evening.
Nov. 16 is the last day for tree setup from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Groups, businesses or individuals who wish to donate a decorated tree or silent auction item can call the Family Place or bring it down to the Barber Motors showroom.
The decorated Christmas trees and silent auction items will be open for viewing from Thursday, Nov. 17 to Thursday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
Parents who wish to have their children’s photos taken with Santa Claus can bring them down to Barber Motors on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m., as Santa will be set up amidst the display of decorated trees.
The auction gala event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 24 starting at 6 p.m.
Family Place staff will be on hand for the evening gala, with Christmas goodies and refreshments, and each tree will be sold by live auction, with the silent auction to close by the end of the evening.
Anyone who would like to volunteer as a host or hostess during viewing hours for the Festival of Trees can contact the Family Place at 306-842-7477, or email to [email protected].
All proceeds from this event will go to support the programs and services of the Family Place, including the Mini-Go preschool program, and programs for parents, children and families throughout the year.
