Weyburn RCMP and the Weyburn Police Service, along with EMS and the Weyburn Fire Department, attended to a head-on collision on Highway 39 on Friday afternoon, between the Viterra and Pioneer terminals. There was a collision between a semi and a pickup truck, closing the highway from 2 p.m. until about 9 p.m. as an RCMP accident reconstructionist investigated the scene. The driver of the pickup truck died in the collision, while the driver of the semi was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released. The name of the deceased has not been released by the RCMP pending notification of the next of kin. The RCMP are continuing to investigate the collision.
